Scientific staff or Senior Consultant (m/w/d) Chair of escape, migration and social mobility, at the Institute of Cultural Sciences, Faculty of State and Social Sciences (Reduced to the E14 TVöD Group) for the next three years in full or part-time. It is a qualification body with the possibility of research on a postdoc project.

The professorship for flight, migration and social mobility is part of the Institute for Cultural Studies at the UniBw Munich. The research and teaching at the professorship focuses on the social and cultural contexts and effects of global flight and migration processes, interdisciplinary knowledge production on flight and migration, as well as on the theories and methods of social and cultural anthropology. In the interdisciplinary studies of cultural sciences (B.A./M.A.), the professorship is responsible for the range of studies on qualitative research methods, on social and cultural anthropology and on social science migration research.

You actively participate in the research projects of the Professorship / Institute and work in coordination with your own research project with the aim of habilitation You will regularly present your research work or the research work of the Professorship and the Institute at national and international conferences and aim to publish your research results You are integrated into university teaching with a total of 12 trimester weeks per academic year and support the teaching tasks of the professorship You also supervise seminar and final work as well as the support of student assistants You support the administrative and organizational activities of the professorship and the faculty and contribute to the quality assurance and further development of the study contents and regulations.

Completed scientific higher education with at least ‘good’ in social and cultural anthropology, empirical cultural studies, sociology or a comparable subject Completed doctorate in one of these subjects (at least “magna cum laude”) Professional experience with a focus on at least one subject area of social and cultural anthropology and/or sociology as well as teaching experience, proven by a professional activity of usually not less than two years German language skills at level C2 and foreign language knowledge in English at least B2 of the Common European Framework for Languages Remarkable: A personal research and teaching profile in the methods of qualitative social research and/or ethnological methods Confidence with interdisciplinary flight and migration research Confidence with African research Experience in the planning and implementation of empirical research abroad Experience in interdisciplinary working relationships What do we expect?
