What can't be missing from a smartphone? Exactly, the microchip – the heart of any electronically controlled system. About 80 percent of all microchips worldwide are manufactured using ZEISS technologies. ZEISS is a technology leader in semiconductor manufacturing equipment. They develop and optimize optical measurement systems with highest accuracy requirements for the qualification of lithography optics

They develop and evaluate concepts and methods for the highest-precision optical surface measurement, analyze existing methods and optimize throughput and performance

They design and improve measuring procedures and calibration methods for complex measuring systems

They develop algorithms for improved evaluation, calibration and correction methods for interferometric measurement methods with extreme accuracy requirements and introduce them into production

They investigate the performance of the supervised measurement techniques with experimental and theoretical methods, develop improvement measures and coordinate their implementation.

You conduct projects in this field

a very well completed scientific or technical study (physics, mechanical engineering, technical optics), preferably with doctorate

good knowledge of technical optics or optical measurement technology are advantageous

Experience in data-based analysis of complex systems

Experience in data science, statistical data analysis, machine learning and AI

a high level of team skills, motivation and commitment

good programming knowledge, preferably in MATLAB or Python

Experience in project management desirable
