Who we are

ARENA2036 stands for “Active Research Environment for the Next generation of Automobiles” and is one of nine research camps of the funding initiative “Research Campus – public-private partnership for innovation” in Germany. ARENA2036 is supported by the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR) and is managed as a registered association with members of science and industry. Our members are active in various disciplines – from the automotive industry to aerospace technology, textile and material research to labor science.

What we do

The members of the ARENA2036 are the key to co-creative work on a variety of interdisciplinary projects. In this way, the ARENA2036 brings together various technical perspectives, (work) cultures and work approaches and complement each other. Based on excellent, interdisciplinary basic and application research, disruptive and jump innovations are to be produced and transferred to the industry. Thus, ARENA2036 wants to contribute to the active shaping of work, mobility and production of the future in the context of digitalization. With the Stuttgart location, the focus is on automotive and production, which is why the view of the year 2036 is laid – the 150th anniversary of the automobile.

We are looking for Software & Solution Architect (m/w/d) – Data Spaces, AI & Cloud for the Tractus-X Accelerator project. In this central key role you act as a technical consultancy and architectural head for projects and members around Tractus-X. You analyze the needs of the partners, design sustainable solutions and actively promote the development of the ecosystem in terms of content and technology. In addition to Tractus-X, you will also design the integration of pioneering topics such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and scalable cloud infrastructure. At the same time, you structure the ARENA2036's own application landscape and accompany members in implementing innovative use cases. Your tasks: • Architecture Conception & Standardization: Design, Development and Review of Reference Architectures, Technical Guidelines and Best Practices for Tractus-X and Industrial Data Rooms

• Technology Trends & Synergies: further development of system architectures with regard to the connection of AI models/KI services and modern cloud infrastructures (Cloud-Native Ecosystems)

• Content impetus: Identification of technical gaps and incitement of strategic developments of the open source ecosystem based on real needs

• Technical advice & onboarding: comprehensive demand analysis and solution concept for project partners as well as ARENA2036 members in implementing data space and AI-use cases

• Structure of IT landscape: design and further development of ARENA2036's own application, cloud and data infrastructure

• International networking: close cooperation with national and international partners as well as open source initiatives to develop data space and technology standards

• Strategic planning: Technical co-responsibility for technical governance and audit work to support thematic field and project management

• Successfully completed study of computer science, software technology or a comparable qualification with multi-year practice experience as software, solution or system architect

• Knowledge and practical experience with industrial data space technologies (e.g. Eclipse DataspaceComponents/EDC, Tractus-X, Catena-X, Gaia-X, IDS-RAM, Dataspace Protocol)

• Embossed understanding of modern cloud infrastructures (e.g. cloud natives, Kubernetes, API Management) as well as interest/experience in the integration of AI/KI applications into data spaces

• Proven experience in requirements analysis, architectural conception and technical advice of heterogeneous stakeholders (Industry & Research)

• Embossed communication strength and translation competence between high-level strategy and technical detail implementation

• Experience in the automotive or manufacturing environment

• Practice as Committer or Maintainer in Open Source Projects (e.g. Eclipse Foundation) is a plus
