In the Federal Forestry companies, we also ensure that the requirements of military use are agreed with the concerns of sustainable and environmentally sound terrain management or that the areas of the National Natural Heritage are developed in accordance with the respective nature conservation objectives. The area of responsibility of a forest economist (w/m/d) at the Niedersachsen Federal Forestry Company has changed. Whereas 20 years ago, trees, planting, and conservation and cultural care were still at the forefront, activity has become much more diverse nowadays. The wood impact is no longer the sole main activity and is now largely taken over by machines. New fields of activity design the working day in the forest. Thus, tasks within the framework of traffic control, for example trees on roads, have increased significantly. Furthermore, mowing works against neophytes and to preserve visitor paths have been added. Nature conservation plays an increasingly important role. Forstwirtinnen/Forstwirte (w/m/d) contribute to the preservation of valuable biotopes such as stray meadows, heath areas and wetlands as well as the hunting infrastructure.
