The German Accreditation Agency (DAkkS) is the national accreditation body of the Federal Republic of Germany. It is about 360 employees and currently about 60 million. Euro is the largest accreditation body in Europe. Their accreditations create confidence in the work of laboratories and inspection and certification bodies whose evaluation services are required in many sectors. With accreditation, the DAkkS confirms that conformity assessment bodies provide their work competently according to the requirements of internationally valid standards, legal bases and relevant rules. This is their legal order. Accreditation is a high priority in Europe. To this extent, the DAkkS is borrowed from the federal government. The DAkkS is under the supervision of the Federal Department of Law and Law. It adopts administrative acts, is duly funded and applies German administrative law in its high-level accreditation activity. Accreditation contributes to making products, procedures and services safer and simplifying trade in Europe and the world – in the interest of the state, the economy and the protection of society and the environment. As Managing Director (m/w/d) of the DAkkS, You ensure the independent, legally compliant and future-proof fulfillment of the statutory accreditation mandate of the Federal Republic of Germany. You develop practical, legally safe and efficient solutions for the organization, internal processes and the design of the management procedures of the DAkkS and work with the federal government and countries. The management and development of executives and employees of a highly qualified expert organisation is in your responsible hands. You are responsible for business outcomes and budgets and develop the corporate strategy. You control the transformation and digitization processes. You contribute to the promotion of innovation, research and further development of the accreditation landscape in Germany. You represent the DAkkS to shareholders, the Supervisory Board, supervisory ministries, authorities, conformity assessment bodies and associations as well as to organisations in European and international accreditation networks.

You have successfully completed your studies, for example in the field of law, business management, engineering or natural sciences; comprehensive knowledge of administrative procedural law is advantageous. You look back on a multiannual professional experience in the regulatory environment and bring experience in dealing with administrative procedures. In addition, you have professional experience in business management and change processes as well as ideally in the effective and digitization of administrative procedures. A multi-year leadership and management experience in a comparable role as well as experience in – ideally international – bodywork can be demonstrated. You are safely moving into complex regulatory frameworks and have a resilient understanding of public-law, governance-related and compliance-relevant issues. Professional experience in the field of quality infrastructure, e.g. accreditation and standardisation or technical regulation, are advantageous. You convince with pronounced communicative skills in German and English as well as the ability to represent the DAkkS to the outside. Analytical and conceptual skills, negotiation skills and enforcement skills as well as a sovereign appearance round off your profile.

You take over a key position within the German quality infrastructure with high economic relevance. You make a direct contribution to secure products and services, as well as to reliable test and certification results. You are active in an interesting and challenging field of work and can actively contribute to the further development of the DAkkS and the German accreditation landscape.
