Technician/Engineer as Calculation Engineer in Shipbuilding (m/f/d)

The focus of your activity is the hydromechanical design of modern maritime systems. With your calculations you make a decisive contribution to the performance, safety and efficiency of demanding shipbuilding projects. Already in the early stage of the concept, you evaluate innovative ship designs, analyze different approaches and provide the technical basis for sound development decisions. Over the entire course of the project, you will examine hydromechanical properties such as stability, resistance, propulsion, seagoing behavior and maneuvering properties and ensure that technical requirements are reliably met. With the help of calculations, simulations and measurements, you evaluate the behaviour of maritime systems, derive optimization potentials and develop efficient and economical solutions. Together with an interdisciplinary team, you continuously develop new methods and calculation methods and actively shape the future of innovative shipbuilding projects. In exchange with customers, classification societies and external project partners, you are confidently representing your technical results and bring your expertise into challenging development projects.

A completed study of shipbuilding and marine engineering, maritime technology or a comparable engineering discipline forms the technical basis for this position. First practical experience or well-founded knowledge in the fields of hydromechanics, ship theory or ship design will enable you to successfully enter challenging development projects. Topics such as stability, naval behavior, resistance, propulsion or maneuvering of ships inspire you and ideally you have already gained practical experience in one or more of these areas. Knowledge of acoustics, vibrations or ship signatures is an advantage and opens up additional professional development opportunities within the team. Analytical thinking, technical understanding and a structured working method help you to penetrate complex relationships and develop sound technical solutions.
