Research Assistant - Sustainable Supply Chains (m/f/d)

The Chair of Operations Management, led by Univ.-Prof. Dr. Grit Walther, is located at the Faculty of Economics at RWTH Aachen University. The research focus of the Chair of Operations Management is the application-oriented, techno-economic analysis, modelling and evaluation of logistics and production systems as well as value chains. In the three research areas “Circular Economy”, “Sustainable Mobility” and “Renewable Fuels & Chemicals” we develop and implement innovative solutions in interdisciplinary cooperation with partners from science and practice in projects such as FSC2 – Integrated Fuel & Chemical Science Center, catalaix – Catalysis for a circular economy or the Graduate College Circular Steel. In our team you will find exciting activities in research and teaching. We extend our team of talented and motivated researchers in the field of sustainability and resource management. You have a strong background in methods of eco accounting, mass flow analyses and/or techno-economic evaluation. You are passionate about promoting positive environmental developments through research and innovation and are inspiring for cooperation with other disciplines. You have completed your studies (master or comparable) in economics, economic engineering, environmental sciences, industrial ecology, supply chain management or a related field with very good success. You have profound knowledge in data-driven, analytical and conceptual methods of mass flow analysis, techno-economic evaluation, eco balance and/or modelling and optimization of processes and value-added networks and can integrate interdisciplinary knowledge from economic, environmental and engineering sciences into application-oriented research. Ideally knowledge of data analysis and sustainability assessment with tools such as OpenLCA, ecoinvent, Brightway, Python, R or similar. You work structured and reliable, show a high degree of motivation, self-initiative and commitment and can work both independently and interdisciplinary teams. Very good English skills as well as pronounced communication skills complete your profile.

Supplier: Chair of Operations Management The employment is in the employment relationship. The place shall be occupied at the next possible time and shall be limited to 2 years. An extension of employment by at least one year is envisaged. The temporary employment is carried out within the framework of the time-limits of the science-time contract law. It is a part-time job with three quarters of regular weekly working time. There is the option of increasing to a full-time job. A full-time job is provided for PostDocs. There is a doctoral opportunity. The grouping depends on the TV-L. The place is rated with EG 13 TV-L. The job description is aimed at all sexes.
