Research Assistant / University Lecturer Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy (m/f/d)

The area of responsibility includes teaching and research activities. The teaching begins in the winter semester 2026 and is planned for the master's degree program Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy at the HHU Medical Faculty. The focus is on clinical psychology and psychotherapy, with particular focus on group psychotherapy. The placeholder takes over various courses in the master's programme. In addition to the design and takeover of the corresponding courses in coordination with the course management, the tasks include the supervision of master's work, as well as the participation in the academic self-government as part of the course of the study. The research activities include, in particular, the field of efficacy research of group psychotherapy and, in addition, the cooperation with existing working groups of the department including psychotherapeutic university ambulance, cooperation in publications, the recruitment of third-party projects and the support of research infrastructure in the field of psychotherapy research. The possibility for doctoral studies (or habilitation) in the field of group therapy research is possible and is supported.

Prerequisites are a completed study of psychology or clinical psychology and psychotherapy (master or equivalent degree) as well as an interest in group psychotherapy. Scientific pre-experiences (project collaboration, methodological competence, experiences with publications and third-party applications), experience in courses of clinical psychology and psychotherapy, as well as their own group psychotherapy competence and experience are desirable.

The mission is to integrate into a motivated and very collegial team, which is under psychodynamic leadership for the diversity of procedures and interest in psychotherapeutic change processes. All services customary in the public service are also offered, inexpensive meals, daycare facilities and staff accommodation. The parallel scientific further qualification (Promotion o. Habilitation), national and international networking in the field of psychotherapy research and scientific congress visits within the department are particularly encouraged. A parallel development or further development as (special)psychotherapeutin or as a psychological psychotherapist*in is possible.
