We are looking for you in Ingelheim am Rhein as MSSQL Administrator / Windows Systems Engineer (all genders) – Database and Infrastructure

In this role, you enter existing MSSQL instances and clusters, analyze disturbances and performance issues, accompany migrations and simultaneously assist in running Windows server environments. You work in challenging customer environments, ensuring stable and secure database platforms and supporting projects around Microsoft SQL Server, Windows Server, Failover Cluster, High Availability, Backup / Restore and Managed Services. Operation, administration and further development of Microsoft SQL server environments in customer environments Administration, monitoring and error analysis of MSSQL instances, databases, jobs, permissions, backups and maintenance plans Operation and support of Microsoft SQL server clusters and highly available database environments Planning, setup and configuration of new MSSQL environments including SQL server failover clusters, Always-On-Availability Groups or comparable high availability solutions Implementation and support of MSSQL migrations, modernizations and version changes Analysis of performance problems, fault images and bottlenecks and derivation of appropriate optimization measures Support in running Windows Server environments, Active Directory, Storage connections, Cluster components and other Microsoft infrastructure topics Recording technical and technical requirements, translation into implementable solution concepts and accompanying technical implementation Creation and maintenance of operating documentation, standards, installation specifications and best practices Support for customer projects, fault analyses, migrations and managed services scenarios in the Microsoft and Database environment

You have a completed training, a study in the IT field or a comparable qualification – our practical experience is more important. You have well-founded experience in the administration and operation of Microsoft SQL servers. You have experience with MSSQL clusters, high availability solutions or the operation of business-critical database platforms. You can plan, build, configure and transfer new SQL server environments to the operation. You know with backup/restore, permissions, maintenance plans, SQL agent jobs, monitoring and basic performance analysis. You have experience in running Windows server environments and bring a good understanding of Active Directory, Storage, Network and Microsoft failover clusters. You can accept, structure and understand technical requirements – both for technical teams and for customer contact partners. You work independently, responsibly and keep an overview in complex environments. You have a good understanding of secure, stable and manageable IT solutions. Nice to have Experience in a system house, MSP or IT service line environment. Experience with SQL-Server-Always-On-Availability Groups, Failover Cluster Instances or complex high availability environments. Knowledge of PowerShell, T-SQL, automation or standardization of operational tasks. Experience with monitoring, backup systems, storage systems or disaster recovery concepts. Knowledge of Microsoft Azure SQL, hybrid database platforms or cloud migration scenarios. Experience with managed services, operating models or recurring customer solutions.
