TE Connectivity is looking for an experienced Senior Product Development Engineer (m/w/d) at Adelberg, which is driving innovative and differentiating fine pitch connector solutions within our Board Connector portfolio. In this role, you combine sophisticated product development with NPI expansion projects as well as sustaining activities. The focus is on groundbreaking solutions for applications in Automation Controls and Battery Electric Storage Systems (BESS), which address key customer requirements and enable simplified assembly processes. The position is located at the Adelberg site and requires close cooperation with global engineering teams, manufacturing sites and technical customer organisations. You work independently on technical topics as well as in cross-functional project structures - including regular customer interaction within the framework of technical support and development activities. Development of innovative Fine-Pitch-Connector concepts for Board-to-Board and Wire-to-Board applications in Automation Controls and BESS Design and development of differentiated connector solutions to meet assembly and manufacturing challenges Creation and evaluation of concept patterns according to PRD specifications and production restrictions Control of iterative development processes by prototyping, testing and continuous optimization Head of NPI expansion projects from concept phase to production start Implementation of Design Verification Testing (DVT) and validation activities for new platforms Cooperation with Manufacturing Development Engineering to ensure design-for-manufacturability (DFM) Support of the existing Fine-Pitch‐Connector portfolio including performance optimization, ECRs, troubleshooting, bug analysis and VAVE activities Cross-functional cooperation with quality, process development and procurement to FMEA, risk mitigation and supplier qualification and second-source development
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or a comparable technical degree programme Multiannual professional experience in product development, ideally in the connector industry Knowledge of Fine-Pitch-Connector technologies, high-density interconnects and relevant automotive processes (APQP, PPAP, TS16949) Deep understanding of connector design principles, including contact mechanics, material selection and environmental resistance requirements Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as punching, injection molding, coating and assembly processes Safe handling of CAD tools (Pro/E, SolidWorks), PLM systems and understanding of signal integrity and high-speed applications in the industrial environment Knowledge of automation control applications (e.g. PLC interfaces, sensor connection, industrial communication protocols) Knowledge of Battery Electric Storage Systems (BESS), including power management, thermal design and safety standards Embossed technical leadership, analytical problem solving capabilities and ability to translate customer requirements into technical specifications Very good project management and communication skills, experience in validation/testing processes and knowledge of relevant standards, regulatory requirements and quality standards in the industrial and automotive sector
