Senior Accountant / Certified Accountant (m/f/d)

We are looking for an extremely experienced and conscientious personality as Senior Accountant (m/w/d) About the position: For our location in Jena we are looking for a motivated senior accountant (m/w/d) with 3 to 5 years of relevant professional experience, who wants to further develop his skills and contribute to the financial success of our manufacturing company. The activity includes operational accounting tasks, ensuring compliance with German accounting standards, and supporting monthly accounts and reporting processes within a US group. A proactive and responsible specialist is sought, which controls the daily business of accounting independently and acts as a central contact for financial questions at the Jena site. The bodyholder works closely with the financial, tax and audit divisions to ensure precise and regulatory financial reporting.

Responsible management of the on-site accounting and ensuring timely and precise financial data and reports. Participation in monthly and annual accounts, including the creation of booking rates and the implementation of account arrangements. Support for creditor and debitor accounting, including accounting and monitoring of payments. Conducting a precise and current main accounting. Support for inventory accounting and for basic tasks of cost tracking. Ensuring compliance with local legal accounting regulations and internal guidelines. Support in the preparation of financial reports and implementation of deviation analyses to support management in assessing financial performance. Main contact partner on site for internal and external stakeholders in matters of accounting and finance. Coordination with the financial and tax departments of the Group headquarters to support Group reporting and compliance requirements. Support of audit processes by providing documents and independent response to queries. Identification of potential improvements in accounting processes and participation in system optimizations. Detection and escalation of problems or risks to the Group Financial Department as needed.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related area (or equivalent professional qualification, e.g. Account Holder). 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in accounting, preferably in the manufacturing or industrial environment. Proven ability to work independently and to independently manage accounting processes. Embossed communication and coordination capabilities for effective cooperation in a global matrix organization. Experience in cooperation with external service providers (e.g. auditors, tax advisors) is advantageous. Basic understanding of the principles of cost accounting. Confidence with local German accounting standards and tax regulations. Knowledge of international accounting standards (e.g. IFRS, US GAAP) are advantageous but not absolutely necessary. Secure handling of accounting software and Microsoft Excel (including basic formulas and data processing). Good knowledge of English and German (in word and writing). High detail accuracy, organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Readiness to learn, initiative and team skills.
