Software Architect (m/w/d)

Target architecture: You are responsible for the architecture of our smart story platform from data acquisition, services and APIs to application in the field. Data flow & Integration: You define event-based architectures including a Unified Namespace as a central data space, defines data models, topic structures and interfaces. Cloud & operation: You unravel cloud-native solutions on Azure and Kubernetes (AKS) including deployment, observability, scaling and downtime security in the production-critical environment. Hands-on: You develop yourself, build prototypes and reference implementations and implement AI-based development. Standards & Quality: You establish architecture principles, coding and security standards, perform architecture reviews and document decisions that can be traced (e.g. as ADRs). Technology decisions: You evaluate frameworks, platforms and tools and make decisions like Buy vs. Build or Edge vs. Cloud before. Collaboration: You work closely with developers, in-house consultants, the Platform / DevOps department and the teams in the plants and translates professional requirements into sustainable technical solutions. AI in production: You create the architectural basis for AI functions on production and time series data, such as anomaly detection and assistance functions.

Education: Completed study of computer science, economic informatics or a comparable qualification. Experience: Multiannual experience in software development and several years in an architectural role for distributed, cloud-native systems. Cloud: Found practice in dealing with Microsoft Azure and Kubernetes (ideally AKS), Containerization and CI/CD. Event streaming: experience with event-based architectures and knowledge of the unified namespace concept. Development: Secure handling of at least one of our languages – C# / .NET, Python or TypeScript – and experience with APIs (REST / GraphQL) and databases including time series data. AI-based development: You use AI tools productively in your working day and can critically evaluate their results. Adjustment: Understanding the requirements of production-related systems. Availability, stability and security are your first priority. Communication: You understand architecture, meet decisions and bring people with different backgrounds together. Very good knowledge of German and good English.
