At the next time, we are looking for Carl Zeiss Spectroscopy GmbH in Jena as a system engineer (m/w/x) with the following areas of activity:

Your duties You will: develop complex optical-spectroscopic systems primarily in the near infrared range and accompany them over the entire product life cycle

guide and advance the development process (V-model) from the technology development and demand collection (product management/customer) to the transfer of series production to the work preparation in consultation with a project manager

in the development of products for the creation and maintenance of system architecture in coordination with internal departments, such as development, quality assurance or service

coordinate and define the scope of solutions (hardware and software, accessories, chemometric models, digital ecosystem etc.) in coordination with internal and external stakeholders

accompanying technical decision-making processes and developing appropriate decision-making templates

responsible for the creation and regular maintenance of design and system FMEA together with the internal specialist departments and coordinate the derivation of meaningful risk treatment measures

support the strategic creation of technology and product roadmaps as well as prepare “make, cooporate or buy” decisions and support them with recommendations

completed university studies in a scientific or technical course (promotion is advantageous)

Expertise in the visual spectroscopy environment (UV-VIS-NIR absorption, transmission and reflection)

ready-to-use knowledge in the methods of system engineering and quality assurance (including Requirement Engineering, System Architecture, V-Model, FMEA, DFMA)

sound knowledge of statistical data analysis

Embossed empathy and communication skills combined with analytical approach

solid German (B2-C1) and English (B2) in word and writing

Of advantage are: Professional experience in technical or scientific equipment construction, ideally in the field of optical spectroscopy or optical measurement technology

Affinity for request collection and systemic integration of software and firmware
