Background in place: Climate change represents social institutions and carriers of free well-being (before growing challenges). Increasing heat events, extreme weather conditions and other climate-related burdens affect health and safety in particular groups of persons in vulnerable situations, with disabilities and the working conditions of professionals in integration aid (i.e. in the area of participation in working life, special housing). At the same time, there is a considerable need for evidence-based and sustainable implementation strategies to systematically anchor climate adaptation measures in social institutions.

The aim of the project is to participate in climate adaptation measures in social institutions, together with experts, management staff, residents and To develop, implement and evaluate employees with disabilities and other relevant stakeholders. To this end, needs, barriers and resources are systematically collected and developed and implemented based on evidence-based, practical interventions as well as a training and qualification concept for professionals.

In the future, systematically developed, evidence-based and participatory interventions will be needed to improve health participation in the environments of life and support structures of integration and disability assistance. Scientific research (including demand surveys and user surveys), evaluation of measures (including health (competence) promotion) and transfer to practice are central levers to identify, develop or develop effective measures and to anchor them in long-term offers in the worlds of life. The measures are scientifically accompanied in the sense of a continuous improvement process according to the Plan-Do-Check Act (PDCA) cycle and evaluated in terms of their acceptance, feasibility and effectiveness.

The main objective of the (promotion) project is the development and testing of evidence-based, participatory and practical measures and concepts for the sustainable strengthening of climate resilience in institutions of integration aid (i.e. in the field of services for participation in working life, special housing) as well as the protection of risk groups and professionals working there and their accompanying research.

The place of work is at Fulda University (with a contractually regulated home office share), with regular digital and on-site meetings at the site of the cooperation and practice partners.

Your main tasks:

› independent conduct of research (including in electronic databases), literature processing and processing.

› Creation of survey instruments (qualitative interviews/focus groups, quantitative surveys) as well as implementation of qualitative and quantitative (indicative) surveys for the use of skilled workers/organisations and user groups (including people with disabilities, skilled personnel, stakeholders).

› Creation of intervention content and materials (e.g. heat protection, (risk) communication, training).

› Implementation of workshops/training units with the user groups as part of the intervention.

› Collection and evaluation of data material using methods of empirical social research (using relevant software such as SPSS and MAXQDA).

› Your own scientific qualification as part of the activity (promotion on project and task-relevant topics) is expected.

› Participation in (own) publications, reports and presentation of results on (international) specialist meetings.

Your profile:

› Completed relevant bachelor's or master's degree (or equivalent) in social sciences or health sciences or comparable disciplines with degrees.

In fulfilling the requirements (including a master's degree, overall result with at least the grade 2.0 or an ECTS rank of the grade B (only with master's degrees or university degree), a doctoral degree at the Public Health Fulda (PZ PH) doctoral degree is provided as part of the project.

› Proven experiences in survey and evaluation methods of empirical social research taking into account appropriate software packages (such as SPSS, MAXQDA).

› Very good expression in word and writing (German) and good English skills are assumed.

› Teamability, good communication skills, reliable and independent work.

› High commitment and interest in scientific activities in an interdisciplinary and international environment for cooperation in the team at Fulda University as well as cooperation/practice partners in Germany.
