As part of the internal doctoral programme of the Department of Economic Affairs, HSBI has a position as Scientific:r Staff:in Parttime (50%), beginning 01.09.2026 or later, limited until 31.12.2028 Depending on the personal qualification, the remuneration is paid up to the 13 TV-L remuneration group. As part of this, you will work on a doctorate in the field of international/intercultural economic communication with the focus on “Artificial Intelligence and Virtual Reality in Economical Foreign Language Teaching”. As part of your doctorate, you can discuss questions from this topic context. In addition to the scientific activity in the course of the doctorate, the acquisition of courses related to the research area is also part of your task, so that teaching experiences can be collected.

Together with us, you plan and implement empirical studies (e.g. surveys, quasi-experimental studies). You present our research results at national and international congresses and work on scientific publications. You support the implementation of courses in the field of Economic English (4 SWS). You support us in the administrative tasks of the professorship and the department. You work on their own scientific qualification project, e.g. promotion.

A very good university degree (master or equivalent) in a social or behavioral discipline is a prerequisite, ideally in the field of intercultural communication. We also expect sound knowledge of quantitative or qualitative empirical research methods. We require very good knowledge of German and English. We expect a great interest in new technologies and their didactic integration. We also expect high social-communicative skills and intercultural competence.
