As a team lead of our three-headed DevOps team, you take over the professional leadership and further development of our central platform team and work closely with around 25 colleagues from the product development that are organized in four mission teams. Together, You provide a platform that allows our web applications to be reliably, safely and performantly developed, operated and delivered.

You're thinking of clear priorities, sound technical decisions and a stable operation of our platform. In doing so, you combine technical understanding with leadership and communication, keep thinking platform topics strategically and help your team implement stable and scalable solutions.

You guide our DevOps team professionally, support your colleague in their further development and ensure clear responsibilities, understandable priorities and good cooperation. You work closely with the Mission Teams and Developers (m/w/d) to prioritise and implement your own and the requirements of the Infrastructure, Platform, CI/CD, Security and Operation team. Together with your team, you are responsible for the further development of our platform, infrastructure and operational processes. The focus is on stability, security, scalability and a good developer experience. You support our developers: in the continuous integration and delivery of our products, for example by automated provision of infrastructure, management of permissions, high performance CI/CD pipelines and reliable deployment processes. You coordinate the planning, implementation and support of our server and cluster infrastructure. In doing so, you make sure that architectural decisions are comprehensible, sustainable and inter-team capable. Together with the team, you establish processes for the proactive care and updating of third-party components. You're making a meaningful balance between speed, stability and security. You make sure our infrastructure is reliably recoverable. Develop, document and improve scalable backup and restore strategies and validate them regularly by testing and automation.

You bring relevant professional experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering or Site Reliability Engineering. Ideally, you have already taken on professional leadership responsibility or want to take the next step into a team leader role. You have fluent German knowledge in word and writing, at least on C1 level. You have a very good technical understanding of the reliable, safe and performant operation of modern web applications. You have secure knowledge in the administration of servers and Kubernetes clusters as well as a good understanding of cloud and system architectures, primarily in Azure. You have experience with Infrastructure as Code, ideally with Terraform, as well as with containerization, Kubernetes and Helmet. You have defined, optimized and supervised CI/CD pipelines during operation, ideally with GitLab CI/CD. You have a good understanding of Observability, Logging, Monitoring and Alerting, for example with Prometheus, Loki, Grafana, Elastic APM, Elasticsearch or Kibana. You have experience with security issues in the platform environment, such as IAM, Least Privilege, Secret Management, Vulnerability Management or Security Scanning within CI/CD pipelines. You can well prioritize technical issues, make dependencies visible and communicate between short-term requirements and long-term technical quality. You communicate clearly, bindingly and at eye level with developers:innen, Product Owner:innen, Engineering Leads and other stakeholders:innen. You have the pleasure of supporting people, giving orientation and developing a team professionally and organizationally. Our work lives from intensive exchange. Therefore, you like to work in pairing, both remotely and in the office, develop together with other solutions and can explain technical decisions and results in a comprehensible way.
