The Chair of Medical Information Technology is part of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology. The chair is also part of the cross-faculty Helmholtz Institute for Biomedical Engineering. Main areas of work: Automation technology for medicine, physiological measurement technology, portable medical technology (Personal Health Care). Working in the BMFTR project “Hi-AI-R”: Holistic Inference System for AI-based assistance in controlling intensive breathing devices Medical questioning/objective: How can an AI-assisted point-of-care system integrate patient data and physiological parameters to fully support the complex control of mechanical ventilation in intensive care stations and to enable personalized, evidence-based therapy decisions and optional device control? Methodology/Tools: Development of a deep learning based decision support system. Integration and analysis of high-frequency vital and examination data from the patient data management system (PDMS), multimodal data fusion, implementation of a demonstrator with optional interface to the ventilation device control and preclinical evaluation.

• Higher education (master or comparable) of electrical engineering, medical technology, physics, mechanical engineering with above average degree

Supplier: Chair of Medical Information Technology The employment is in the employment relationship. The place shall be occupied at the next possible time and shall be limited to at first 3 years. There is the possibility to extend for another 2 years. The temporary employment is carried out within the framework of the time-limits of the science-time contract law. It is a full-time job.
