The main task of the childcare department is to promote early childhood education, care and education with a view to the development of young people. The department is currently divided into 31 urban childcare facilities.

Supervision of services and expertise on the management of urban childcare facilities and responsible exercise of all management tasks in the sense of occupational and health protection Ensuring service operations in the event of failure - Control of measures Personnel selection in cooperation with the staff office of the Youth Office and continuous optimization of personnel use as well as the organisation and organisation of the work Advising and accompanying kita management in terms of personnel management and conflict management Control of internal and external communication and ensuring information sharing Training of the Kita guides and design of conceptual consulting processes with regard to the pedagogical/operative orientation of the Kitas, as well as review and further development of the concepts according to legal requirements in close coordination with the specialist consultations Crisis intervention for kitas and action management for complaint management
