The Center of Excellence Crisis Early Detection (KompZ KFE) is a multi-year project at the University of the Federal Armed Forces in Munich, funded by the Federal Ministry of Defence (BMVg) and the Federal Foreign Office (AA). The tasks of the Centre are scientific work in quantitative crisis and conflict research, data science and the support of the Federal Government in predicting and evaluating crises and conflicts. For this purpose, interdisciplinary methodological competence is established at the centre and innovative research approaches and IT instruments are tested and (further) developed. In this way, the existing approaches to crisis early detection are scientifically sound and technologically optimized and brought into application.
