As a machining mechanic:in you manufacture precision components made of metal – for example by turning, milling, drilling or grinding. You work on CNC machine tools or program manufacturing systems. You set up the machines, carry out test runs and monitor the manufacturing process. Quality controls always belong to this: With sliders, measuring screws, gauges and surface measuring instruments, you make sure everything fits. Workpieces are deburred as required and all work steps are carefully documented. You also clean the machines and pay attention to the maintenance and repair of mechanical and electrical components.
