SAP FI/CO Inhouse Consultant – Schwerpunkt S/4HANA Finance (m/f/d)

The Max-Planck-Gesellschaft zur Förderung der Wissenschaften e. V. (MPG) is a self-government organization of science funded by the federal and state governments. At present, it operates 85 institutes and research institutes in Germany and abroad for basic research in science and humanities and is thus one of the leading international research institutes with numerous Nobel Prize winners in their ranks. The MPG founded the new central IT facility Max Planck Information and Technology (MaxIT) on 1 January 2026. This bundles and coordinates central IT activities of the MPG and is a reliable partner for science and administration. It consists essentially of the MPDL (Max Planck Digital Library) and the ICT (Information and Communication Technology) department of the General Administration. As a central institution for IT and library services, it develops and implements strategies and technologies in the areas of digitalization in science and administration, open science, library, publishing, IT infrastructure and IT security. In close cooperation with the scientific institutes and the General Administration (GV), MaxIT focuses on the efficient use of modern digital tools and technologies to sustainably promote digital transformation in science and administration. At the closest possible time, the SAP FI/CO Inhouse Consultant (m/w/d) department of the ICT department is looking for an SAP FI/CO Inhouse Consultant (m/w/d).

You advise the departments as a central contact person for all topics related to SAP FI/CO and S/4 HANA Finance You accompany the upcoming factory conversion of the existing SAP‐ERP system and then have a significant impact on the Greenfield construction of a new S/4 HANA system You support the specialist areas in the acceptance, analysis and prioritization of requirements and develop sustainable solutions – both technical and technical You take responsibility in all phases of the project: Conception, Fit‐to-Standard Workshops, Customizing, Test Management, Go‐Live Preparation and Hypercare You configure and optimize the SAP Financial Processes (FI/CO) in the sense of a Clean‐Core approach and work closely with internal teams and external partners You create technical specifications for extensions, accompany development and carry out functional and integration tests You support the continuous development of the accounting system of the Max Planck Society and ensure a current operational and process documentation You take over the 2nd and 3rd level support for the SAP-Finance applications

A completed study of (economic) informatics, business management or a comparable qualification. Funded knowledge of SAP FI/CO and first experiences with S/4 HANA Finance Ideally experience in transformation projects (probably Greenfield) understanding of accounting processes; Experience in public finances is a plus. Knowledge of adjacent topics such as SAP BTP, Fiori, data migration or interfaces are welcome Analytical thinking, structured working, communication strength and joy in cooperation with specialist areas Ready for continuous training and on occasional missions. Very good German and good English skills
