The core tasks of the department include ensuring a sustainable, cost-optimized energy supply and energy production, safeguarding our energy saving goals by optimizing energy efficiency and constantly developing the energy management system, developing our disposal strategy and reducing our water consumption by closing water circuits. For Mercedes-Benz Group AG and Mercedes-Benz Operations, the Energy Management Powertrain team controls the energy management system and the energy efficiency of the locations, the further development of the KPI systems and the pursuit of the target achievement via all energy KPIs in the cross-departmental projects. The “Energy Management Powertrain” internship at the Stuttgart site in Esslingen-Mettingen includes a variety of tasks that provide a comprehensive insight into our sustainable production: Participation in creating documents for top management

Implementation of the requirements for the energy management system and its further development

Coordination and control of energy optimization activities

Self-education and tuning of (partial) work packages and project topics for energy optimization

Participation in the further development of our energy communication strategy

Working with the planning and implementation of training concepts and training

Working with EnEffCo to further develop energy indicators and optimize large-scale consumer analysis

Cross-site cooperation in the Energy Management Powertrain team as well as with adjacent specialist areas in project tasks

The activity can begin from August 2026.

Programme in the field of energy management/energy management, electrical engineering, economic engineer, business informatics or a comparable degree programme

Secure knowledge of German and English in word and writing

Safe handling of MS Office

Commitment and team skills

Analytical way of thinking and strategic, independent and working, self-initiative
