System administrator specializing in Linux (m/f/d)

CEOS GmbH has been building highly developed optical components for electron microscopes for 30 years. We support our academic partners in research projects, develop prototypes to market maturity and build our products in small series for our industrial customers. To strengthen our internal IT, we are looking for a technically strong personality with the focus on infrastructure, Linux, network and IT security. From the classic system administration, the provision and maintenance of IT services, the support of our on-premise server and network infrastructure to the support of our employees in any IT issues, our IT offers a wide range of challenges and opportunities for further development.

• cooperation in the further development of our Linux-First concept,

• Support in the following areas:

• operation, development and maintenance of IT services,

• Network administration,

• development of the monitoring infrastructure,

• Optimization of backup and recovery concepts,

• IT security,

• Optimization and maintenance of PC hardware in our laboratories,

• analysis and elimination of infrastructure and network problems,

• documentation of IT systems and processes in compliance with safety aspects;

• solution-oriented cooperation with the fields of software development, devOps and physics,

• User support.

• Complete vocational training or studies in the field of computer science, system administration or a comparable qualification,

• several years of practical experience in Linux administration,

• good knowledge in several of the following areas:

• Network, VLAN, VPN and firewall concepts,

• virtualization and containerization,

• Identity and Access Management,

• Automation and orchestration,

• monitoring and backup strategies,

• a structured, conscientious and independent way of working,

• good knowledge of German and English in word and writing.
