In the dual study of mechanical engineering, you will be given a broad basic knowledge of mechanical engineering. After that, you will find the following priorities: General mechanical engineering, construction & development and production technology. Depending on the chosen focus, your basic knowledge will be in 3. Year of study supplemented by individually selectable modules. Theories and practical phases change in the rhythm of 3 months. The theoretical phase is carried out at the Duale Hochschule Baden-Württemberg Mannheim. In the practical phase, you have the opportunity to put into practice what you have learned at the university. In the practical phase, you will learn the business processes of our company in several departments and work with various projects. Your practical phase is supplemented by possible stays abroad. In the theoretical phase you will be given a broad basic knowledge from the discipline of mechanical engineering and your chosen focus. The study plan includes modules such as construction, manufacturing technology, materials, technical mechanics, strength teaching, mathematics, computer science, electrical engineering, thermodynamics and modules of your focus. During your studies, you write four scientific project work and a bachelor's work in which you solve business problems independently. At the end of your studies, you will find diverse and challenging tasks that differ from your chosen focus. With the focus on general machine construction, your possible fields of application range from the development, development and construction of a product to its series start and service to the service. With the focus on “construction and development”, you take on challenging tasks in business departments as well as research and development. Fields of activity along the entire chain of product production await you if you have chosen the focus on production technology. You can also work in leading positions with increasing experience in project teams.
