The GSI Helmholtz Centre for Schwerionenforschung in Darmstadt operates one of the leading particle accelerator systems for science. Their task is to develop and maintain an infrastructure for the development and use of Python applications in accelerator operations.

Development of a stable base distribution that can be updated independently of the underlying operating system for the use of Python in the control room of GSI/FAIR Development of a Python package repository for GSI internal code, if possible taking into account the existing work of the Acc-Py project at CERN Development of solutions for incorporating Python programs into the existing control system of particle accelerators at GSI/FAIR Provision and documentation of developer tools for the creation and use of Python applications.
