KG is responsible for the Group’s “DNA” – all the patents, brands, designs and domains that characterise the appearance and guarantee technical progress. We take care of the IP rights (Intellectual Property) of Mercedes-Benz Group AG, Mercedes-Benz AG and its subsidiaries to ensure the protection of these rights. Due to the balancing of interests and the overall operating agreement “Zukunft Daimler” (GBV 93), all overall operating arrangements of Mercedes-Benz Group AG also apply collectively to Mercedes-Benz Intellectual Property GmbH & Co. KG. Among other things, it is ensured that our employees are kept in line with Mercedes-Benz Group AG and Mercedes-Benz AG. These challenges include: carrying out legal investigations on domestic and foreign protective rights, in cooperation with external lawyers, where appropriate, drafting expert opinions with appropriate risk presentation or weighing

Defence of third-party protective rights attacks (rightening requests, out-of-court settlement of disputes; supporting in case of violations)

Preliminary examination of third-party rights for relevance for our innovations or Technologies within the framework of development processes (Freedom to operate analysis)

In doing so, process-accompanying consulting of the corresponding R&E functions and aspiring areas (e.g. purchasing, marketing, sales) with regard to development goals and freedom of action (e.g. based on the state of the art, existing third-party rights and proprietary protective rights positions)

Development of all possible anti-trust measures (e.g. contract negotiations, disputes, invalidity)

Information and coordination with the professional controllers

Edit invention messages according to the legal circumstances (workers' inventors' law, etc.) and based on uniform principles of the corporate intellectual property strategy

Place protective rights applications, if necessary in cooperation with external lawyers

Processing of inventive questions, if appropriate in coordination with the corresponding cross-sectional functions (e.g. inventive remuneration, license agreements)

Ideally, you will bring: You have completed your studies in the field of news, electrical engineering, computer science or physics

Multiannual professional experience in industry, ideally in research and development are desired

You are an authorised representativein the European Patent Office or German Patent Attorneyin or Patent Attorney*in and have several years of professional experience in patent law

German and English knowledge in word and writing

Knowledge of another foreign language is advantageous
