For our software team ZEISS, we are looking for a software engineer (m/w/x) that actively revolutionises our software platform ZEN Core (https://www.zeiss.com/microscopy/en/produkte/software/zeiss-zen-core.html). Development of new functions and components in the backend and application software for our electron microscopes

Conception, specification and design of the control of complex microscope components in close cooperation with our software and firmware development teams as well as our external partners

Ensuring the interaction of individual components on all architectural levels (full stack) and their integration into complex workflows and ultimately their testing in the overall system

Optimizations for storage efficiency, CPU usage or IO throughput

Creation of specifications, designs and documentation

a successfully completed study of computer science, natural sciences or engineering or a comparable qualification

Professionals with passion for software development in the industrial environment or young professionals or senior experts with experience in software products for complex instruments

comprehensive knowledge of object-oriented programming, with multithreading being part of regular practice for you

high quality awareness and intrinsic interest in good code (CleanCode, Reviews, Testing, Readability)

independent, structured and team-oriented mode of operation combined with a high self-motivation to remain on the current state of the art

very good language skills in English
