Research Assistant - Institute of Electrical Systems and Networks, Digitalization and Energy Economics (m/f/d)

Branch: Humanities Branch: Humanities

Supplier: Chair of transmission networks and energy management The Chair of Transmission Networks and Energy Industry, led by Prof. Albert Moser, researches the market and network integration of renewable energy plants, electric vehicles, battery stores, heat pumps and electrolyzers to achieve climate protection targets. The employees are offered the opportunity to research on a variety of technical and energy issues and thus contribute to the desired climate neutrality. The chair aims to prepare its employees for future demanding tasks in the network and energy industry through the cooperation in teaching and on various projects as well as early adoption of leadership and project responsibility. The research on the transmission network focuses on network development as well as safe and stable operation of hybrid rotary and DC networks in Germany and Europe with high penetration of renewable energies and power electronics. Energy-economic topics consider interdisciplinary technical-economic issues at the interface between electricity markets and transmission network, i.e. security of supply, allocation of transmission capacities for markets, procurement of system services and market simulations. As a methodological approach, digital simulation models of the markets and the transmission network are further developed. The mathematical methods used in this process include complex optimization algorithms, machine learning and the calculation of large dynamic systems.
