The geriatric specialist hospital has 120 fully-stationary beds on four stations and 28 day hospital squares. We treat about 2,400 elderly patients per year (usually “70+”) with neurological, internalistic, but also orthopaedic, surgical and rheumatological diseases as well as psychiatric diagnosis. In addition, we take care of pain-therapeutic and palliative medical issues. Many patients have accompanying neuropsychological problems.

Not only is the cure of acute diseases the focus here, but in particular the promotion of the skills needed for a largely independent daily life. Therefore, the patients/patients are usually supervised early rehabilitation by an interdisciplinary team. There is also a protected area for patients with cognitive restrictions.
