Project Managers in the Research Lab ''Secure Software Defined Defence'' – Focus on Operations

As part of our team at the new FKIE site in Leipzig as well as in the project offices in Saxony, you are actively involved in the operational implementation of research, development and technology projects – thereby shaping the project everyday between science, industry and security authorities. The coordination of national and international projects from initiation to successful completion is your responsibility and ensures a smooth process across all phases of the project. Project progress, milestones, resources and budgets always keep you in mind; in case of deviations, you control predictively and solution-oriented. As a central communication hub, you connect scientific teams with partners from the Wehrindustrie as well as contractors and ensure a clear and efficient exchange. With a strong look for efficiency, you continuously develop and optimize internal project management standards and digital tools – even using artificial intelligence. Precise status reports, meaningful presentations as well as the creation of proof of use for grantors and customers complete your diverse range of tasks.

Graduate or Master degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Economic Engineering, Business Informatics, Business Administration, Administration or Behavior, Social Sciences and Humanities Multiannual professional experience in operational project management, ideally in the context of publicly funded research, the security and defence industry or in the context of the authorities (Bund, Länder, municipalities) Knowledge of common project management methods (e.g. PRINCE2, PMI, agile approaches) and safe handling of PM software and AI applications German and English knowledge in word and writing, combined with a sovereign appearance in dealing with safety-sensitive actors Safe handling of MS Office, AI tools and modern collaboration and information systems In addition, you will bring a strong interest in issues of national and international security, the ability to quickly penetrate complex technological contexts and a high degree of motivation, self-initiative and sense of responsibility.
