Our objectives are to protect high-quality soils, to investigate and eliminate waste and pollutants in the soil, in soil air and in groundwater. The Unit “Grundsatz, Bodenschutzplanung, Informationssysteme” in the Department of Soil Protection and Old Loads deals intensively with the topic of soil sealing. Strategic measures of a desealing programme are anchored in the Hamburg climate adaptation strategy adopted in 2025. As part of an open-minded, young and motivated team, take over the implementation and further development of the sealing program. Work actively to seal off areas, develop soils as habitats and make an important contribution to climate adaptation in the city and the environment.

You create a communication strategy focusing on “sealing in the context of climate adaptation”, interact with and organize dialogues with various stakeholders on the topic of sealing, develop and implement targets and measures of soil sealing in processes of third parties and in urban planning processes, work with the development of a desealing potential disaster; and are a specialist contact person in relation to the sealing program.

Required Higher education (master or equivalent) in the field of environmental engineering, environmental engineering or physical geography or an adjacent field of study; or equivalent skills and experience Advantages Experience in administration and sound knowledge in soil protection Knowledge in the field of land protection law and other essential legal areas such as building law, nature conservation law, environmental information law and general administrative law Knowledge of Geographic Information Systems, Geostatistics and ESRI Software (e.g. ArcGIS Pro) very good general computer skills (in particular MS-Office and database systems) a dedicated, reliable, responsible and independent way of working as well as a communicative basic attitude
