Position Summary As a Expert Sales, you will take ownership of complex quotation and tender processes from initial customer through to final proposal submission. You will lead cross-functional teams, develop tailored bid strategies and solution concepts, and ensure that proposals meet both technical and commercial requirements. Key Responsibilities
Independently lead and coordinate complex quotation and tender processes from initial customer inquiry through to the timely submission of high-quality proposals. Develop and execute effective bid strategies, balancing technical, commercial, and financial requirements. Serve as the central point of contact for all involved in the bid process and drive effective cross-functional collaboration. Analyze and assess customer requirements, specifications, and statements of work with regard to technical feasible, commercial viability, and potential risks. Develop tailored technical solution concepts in close collaboration with Sales, Application Engineering, R&D, and Product Management. Take ownership of the preparation, quality assurance, and continuous improvement of complex proposal documents, including technical and commercial content. Plan, facilitate, and follow up on bid, review, and approval meetings, ensuring alignment and timely decision-making through to final approval approval. Support and advise the Sales team in developing technically solid and competitive proposal solutions. Identify, assess, and manage bid-related risks, develop appropriate mitigation measures where required. Continuously improve and standardize bid management processes, methodologies, and templates to enhance efficiency, consistency, and overall proposal quality. Ensure compliance with internal quality standards as well as customer-specific, superior, and regulatory requirements throughout the entire bid process.
Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a comparable technical discipline. Several years of professional experience in technical sales, inside sales, bid management, proposal management, or application engineering. Proven experience in managing complex technical tenders and quotation processes. Strong technical expertise combined with the ability to translate customer into feasible solutions and capable solution concepts. Knowledge of relevant functional safety standards (e.g. IEC 61508) and security standards (e.g. IEC 62443, EU NIS2). Experience in working with safety PLCs and knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as Profinet, Ethernet/IP, Modbus, etc. Ability to work in interdisciplinary teams and to communicate technical content clearly and aligned. Experience with ERP Systems search as IFS Cloud, SAP, Oracle or comparable platforms. Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and coordination skills, with the ability to interact multiple functions and departments. Highly structured, analytical, and self-motivated approach to work, combined with a strong customer and service orientation. Excellent written and spoken German and English skills.
