We are already reporting annually at both locations in Bonn >700 thoracic interventions with >220 anatomical resections. The two clinics run in HR and firm cooperation are the operative locations of the Regional Lung Cancer Center (DKG) in cooperation with the Helios Clinics and the Johanniter Kliniken in Bonn and Siegburg. The special focus of clinical work is on minimally invasive, especially robotic, oncological thorax surgery. A variety of modern robot-assisted operating systems across both locations (DaVinci X, DaVinci Xi, Dexter, DaVinci SP in the procurement phase) as well as robot-assisted bronchoscopy- System ION is in thorax surgery. Together with our colleagues in child surgery, paediatric thorax surgery is a further focus as well as extended resections, e.g. under ECMO support. In addition to expanding clinical development, there are also scientific possibilities for development. Our research and innovation platform BOSTER (Bonn Surgical Technology Center) with focus on robotics, XR/VR simulation and AI-assisted surgery is the central anchor of our scientific work. In the next few years, development and scientific funding bases are secured for dedicated and innovative colleagues.
