Environmental Protection Technician in the Port of Hamburg

We make port: With great passion, we keep running the infrastructure of the Port of Hamburg around the clock. We are more than 1,900 HPA colleagues who drive forward advanced ideas to develop Hamburg's heart and make the port a bit more sustainable every day.

We are a ten-member team and are working on the public-law tasks as an approval authority in nature conservation and soil protection in the Port of Hamburg. We are responsible for the operational officers responsible for water protection, who conducts the internal control of the HPA wastewater discharges. We need support in the associated environmental tasks – so come on board and strengthen our team!

In your role as an environmental engineer*in, you support the water protection officers in which you develop a strategy for sampling the surface and wastewater from the excavated material processing and from our landfills. You plan, organize and carry out the sampling. You also collect and control the data. Our environmental database is filled and evaluated by you. Your tasks include creating the HPA framework contracts for chemical analysis. You participate in the preparation, documentation and presentation of overriding environmental and nature-protection issues and issues.

You have advanced training as a state-tested environmental engineer*in, as an alternative, you have completed a relevant three-year training and have gained many years of experience in the field of environmental protection. Your environmental knowledge is very comprehensive. In addition, you have a good understanding of common environmental legislation. You work structured, are reliable and have a clear analytical method. A mix of office activity and external work will tell you. You own a license? Perfect! This makes your working day easier.
