The Bremen environmental company is responsible for various communicative services as an independent urban operation of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen. These include, in particular, the planning, construction and maintenance of green and outdoor facilities as well as the 13 municipal cemeteries, the public burial system, the operation of a crematorium and the municipal sewage disposal obligation. With about 400 employees, we are highly committed to providing and developing services for the city community of Bremen. The area of green spaces and cemeteries has divided its area into 5 districts. The environmental company Bremen operates 12 farms in Bremen. From here, our gardeners are in use for urban greenery. A good 20 million square meters of public green are in the entertainment of the environmental company Bremen. These include all urban parks and green trains, but also the municipal cemeteries and the road accompanying green. We also maintain a large number of urban playgrounds and sports facilities, the outdoor areas of urban kitas and schools, as well as the forest areas in the North of Bremen. And of course, our 73,000 street trees are also included, as are 152,000 trees in parks and green areas, in kitas, schools, playgrounds, public buildings, sports grounds or swimming lakes.
