Coordinator of Knowledge Communication and Mediation of the Berlin Collections (m/f/d)

The Stiftung Zentral- und Landesbibliothek Berlin (ZLB) is the largest and most visited public library in Germany with over 1.2 million visitors annually. At our two locations – the American Memorial Library and the Berlin City Library – we offer a wide range of media, events and digital services. You develop concepts for improving internal information availability, communication structures and knowledge transfer. You develop strategies for evaluating and regularly updating information and knowledge levels and strategically manage their implementation. You work to strengthen the recognition and increase the perception of the ZLB's Berlin collections, including through the development of communication concepts and strategies. You build and maintain contacts and networks in close coordination with the team of the Berlin Collections and identify relevant cooperation partners. You design workshops and training, both in presence and online, and develop asynchronous digital offers such as video tutorials. You formulate and edit texts and, if necessary, audio/visual content for the collection-related mediation work in a target-group-oriented manner and in an appropriate manner; for example, in the context of social media posts, video tutorials, infographics, communications, instructions and handling. You provide information interviews, advise on individual requests for information and inform users about the use of the library and IT.

You have completed your university degree (min. bachelor or comparable degree) of library and information science, humanities and cultural sciences, social sciences, communications and media sciences or a comparable degree of study and already have experience in the field of activity. In addition, the following skills are distinguished: You have excellent knowledge of methods, tools and technologies of knowledge management and have experience in developing strategies for target group-specific mediation in cultural institutions. You have knowledge of current trends in the development of national and international libraries and are ready to participate in the processes, organization and structures of libraries. You have experience in addressing and building external networks and are willing to proactively address initiatives, institutions and individuals and initiate cooperation. You have very good knowledge and experience in project management and project-related work, especially in a heterogeneous cooperation environment. You have very good communication skills, a high level of team capacity and excellent presentation and moderation capabilities. You have knowledge and experience with agile methods as well as in third-party acquisitions or are ready to work into them. You have knowledge of the communication of information and media skills and experience in library research in search systems and databases.
