Preparator for Invertebrate Fossils (m/f/d)

Preparation of collection material, mainly fossils of eddy-free sludges and preparation of sediment samples Ordinary work in the collections for Carnozoic and Triassic Vertebrates Documentation of collection material: photography and capture of simple data in Excel tables or databases Organisation and implementation of scientific excavations with the willingness to take over necessary driving services with a service car Practical technical cooperation in the implementation of exhibitions Care of visitors in the collection (especially access to material and supervision)

(m/w/d) or technical assistant*in (m/w/d) for natural museums and research institutes with appropriate specialization or a comparable training as well as several years of professional experience in rock preparation The ability to move safely in unavoidable terrain as well as in pits and slopes is expected and to find findings professionally. The activity requires the safe handling of tools and sample material even under conditions where technical aids or machines cannot be used. Detection of relevant excavation experience The activity includes safe lifting, carrying and moving collection and archive drawers weighing up to 15 kg. Due to the structural and collection-related circumstances, in particular in historical collection furniture, technical lifting or transport aids cannot be used in all cases. Handicraft skill and safe handling of partially heavy technical equipment in the laboratory and trenches (stone saws, hammer drills and comparable) High sense of responsibility in dealing with unique materials Experience in handling collection material is desirable Personal commitment and team capacity to cooperate with the relevant curator and the preparation team Reliability, organisational skills and flexibility Class B driving licence English knowledge is advantageous, but not required
