The Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics (IPP) is a globally outstanding centre for fusion research. With around 1100 dedicated employees in Garching near Munich and Greifswald, we are dedicated to researching the foundations for fusion power plants. These power plants generate energy without climate-damaging emissions, are safe, sustainable and almost inexhaustible – similar to the sun. Fusion power plants have the potential to play an important role in the energy supply of future generations. At the Garching site we operate the world-famous and established ASDEX upgrade, a Tokamak fusion facility. In Greifswald we are researching Wendelstein 7-X, the world's largest and most powerful fusion plant of the Stellarator type. The Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics in Garching is looking for an State-testedr Technicians*in on cooperation with research tasks.

We run the ASDEX upgrade major experiment to investigate the processes in a fusion reactor. These experiments require the production and maintenance of a high vacuum in an installation of 40 m3 volume. The pump, conditioning and gas inlet systems used for this purpose are to be operated in consultation with the scientists and to contribute to their continuous development.
