The AWO daycare centres are open to all children of the various social, confessional and national groups. They thus form a differentiated, multilayered, forming and social learning environment. The main tasks include child-friendly implementation of the basic values of the welfare of workers, solidarity, tolerance, freedom, equality and justice. In the AWO Kita family centre on the campus in Garbsen, a total of 98 children are accompanied by experienced pedagogical professionals in a period of 8 to 4 p.m. The facility consists of an integration group and two elementary groups (for children aged 3 to 6 years) and two groups of cribs. There are four places for children with special needs. We are guided by the situation approach. This approach allows us to take up and address current life situations of the children in which the children are currently or in foreseeable. The needs and the development processes of the children entrusted to us find their expression in everyday events, which allows us to respond specifically to their lives.Our room design is very generous and offers a lot of space for the different age and development stages. In our institution, children can grow together and learn from each other. Our spacious outdoor area invites children to enjoy exciting and creative games with water, sand and play equipment.
