Product Development (m/w/d) Area Research and Development | Location Duisburg As an explosion protection engineer:in product development you are the technical interface between development, the world of standards and international approvals. You actively shape the ex-concepts of our future products, accompany our products from the first idea to market approval and ensure that safe, norm-oriented and worldwide usable solutions are made from innovative technologies. From the idea to the approval: you accompany development projects throughout the entire product development process and advise teams on all issues relating to explosion protection and product authorisations. Rethink Security: You develop and evaluate explosion protection concepts for new products and product families – with a special focus on intrinsically safe systems according to IEC 60079-11. Together with hardware and system developers, you can bring the requirements from ATEX, IECEx and other international regulations into product development at an early stage. Coordinate approvals: You control approval projects with external testing institutes and certification bodies and accompany the process from technical documentation to successful certification. Support products in the long term: Even after market launch, you stay at the ball. You evaluate changes in standards and technical developments and derive the necessary measures for existing products and authorisations. Design the future: You observe new technologies, evaluate their potential for explosion protection and develop future-oriented ex-concepts and approval strategies.

You are delighted to penetrate complex technical relationships and develop practical solutions from them. Ideally, you will bring: a successfully completed technical study, e.g. electrical engineering, physics or a comparable discipline. Multiannual experience in explosion protection, product approval or the development of electronic devices. You understand electronic circuits and can reliably assess technical relationships. Ideally, you know relevant standards and regulations, in particular the IEC-60079 series. You work analytically, structured and solution-oriented – and do not lose sight of the pragmatic solution even in complex technical questions. You communicate safely with different disciplines and understand how to understand technical requirements and to gain interdisciplinary teams for your solutions. You have good knowledge of German and English.
