The Deutsche Bundesbank is proactively engaged in these developments in order to identify opportunities, risks and applications at an early stage and to develop them responsibly. As part of our Quantum team, you develop innovative solutions at the interface of classic IT, quantum computing and quantum- or quantum-inspired algorithms. In an interdisciplinary environment with a high level of experimentation, you work on applications with relevance for Central Banking.

You identify and evaluate innovative fields of application for quantum technologies, in particular quantum computing, quantum and quantum-inspired algorithms with a focus on applications in Central Banking and develop tailor-made quantum algorithms and their integration into classic application codes. Technical and strategic requirements tune with interdisciplinary teams, disciplines and external partners, leading forward-looking solutions. You plan, coordinate and accompany the development of prototypes, Proofs of Concept and MVPs and support their subsequent integration into existing IT infrastructures. When assessing and integrating Quanten-computing technologies, software solutions and platforms, you will provide expert information and practice-oriented advice. Agile innovation processes actively shape and advance the continuous development of quantum-based computer platforms, services and methods. You take responsibility for your projects, work team-oriented, use challenges as an opportunity to develop and actively participate in joint solutions.

Master or equivalent degree in a course relevant to the activity At least two years of professional experience in quantum computing (e.g. in innovation, technology transfer, scientific computing or in the development of quantum and quantum inspired algorithms) Good German knowledge Very good English skills In addition, it is desirable: Very good knowledge of quantum computing technologies, especially in quantum and quantum-inspired algorithms, as well as a good understanding of modern IT infrastructures Confidence with the main building blocks of quantum algorithms, quantum phase estimation (QPE) and quantum Fourier Transfor­mation (QFT) and their integration into established algorithms, for example documented by publications Good knowledge of predictability theory and complexity theory as well as practical application of these basics in models of scientific computing or quantum informatics, for example confirmed by studies Very good knowledge of the analysis, evaluation and integration of new technologies in existing IT landscapes, as well as knowledge of technology assessment, market analysis or strategic advice Very good knowledge in the management and design of innovation processes, agile methods and in the management of interdisciplinary cooperation Very good knowledge of at least one programming language (e.g. Python), proven by practical experience in rapid prototyping for scientific computing Good knowledge of quantum computing framework Qiskit, alternative Cirq or PennyLane Safe, binding occurrence and the ability to work constructively with external partners, research networks and international bodies Team-oriented, independent and structured working methods Very good English and good German communicative skills
