Software Developer - SCADA Systems (m/f/d)

The central control technology ensures comprehensive monitoring and control of the entire railway and infrastructure operation by means of the most modern control center technology. Our SCADA system forms the technical basis for the continuous monitoring, switching and control of all systems, including fire and driving current systems as well as lighting and other safety-relevant devices. As the existing system no longer fully meets the future requirements for security and infrastructure, the VGF is currently developing a powerful, independent SCADA solution. As part of this renewal, we are looking for qualified and committed reinforcement for our development team. You design, develop and expand our proprietary SCADA system You work on software architecture and on technical design decisions with You implement secure and robust software solutions You analyse requirements and convert them into wartable, well documented code You work closely with other developers as well as adjacent departments You maintain code, system and architecture documentation

You have several years of experience in at least one object-oriented programming language (e.g. Java, C, C++, Python, PHP or comparable languages) You have profound knowledge in the field of secure software development and experience in software architecture and in the design of complex systems with You are sure to deal with version management systems (git) and have experience in structured code and system documentation You bring experience in development under UNIX/Linux operating systems You have gained first practical experience with database systems such as PostgreSQL, MariaDB, MySQL or comparable solutions Ideally, you already had first touch points with UX design and user-centric software design You bring the willingness and motivation to work into a new proprietary programming language You work independently and structured and show team skills
