It is fun to work in the interface between IT and development? In Group Research & Mercedes-Benz Cars development, we shape the automotive generations of the future. We mean innovative products with the highest quality and efficient development processes. We are already working on vehicles that will secure the technology leadership of Mercedes-Benz in the future. We are responsible for the digital 3D engineering workstation for the construction and security areas and provide end-to-end solutions for development and security as well as data analytics and artificial intelligence with the Center of Competence for CAD, Virtual and Augmented Reality (VR/AR/XR) and Big Data. In addition, we are in the central responsibility of mandate for methods and processes in mechanical product development. With our digital products, we are the strategic digitization partner of RD and contribute to achieving the target image “Data-driven Company”. CAD data form the foundation for all digital processes in mechanical product development, from the production of 3D product geometries to digital protection. The strategic design of the 3D-engineering workplace of the future is therefore of central importance for enabling a shortened digitized product development process. These challenges include: Active cooperation in project coordination to introduce a data dashboard to meet data-based decisions Development of the dashboard concept by additional “Customer KPI” including prototypical implementation from the data layer to the visualization (Data Engineering) Support in strategy development to design the future 3D engineering workstation to support digital projects such as Digital Twin and Electric Drive Support in the comprehensive and sustainable design of the IT infrastructure of the CAD ecosystem (e.g. cloud strategy, use of artificial intelligence)
