Type of employment: Limited Working time: Full time Place of work: Renningen Alkaline electrolysis (AEL) based on low-temperature electrolysis is the leading technology in the field of hydrogen production. In order to take advantage of their technological advantages, it is essential to further deepen the basic understanding of the interaction of adjacent components and of the associated overlapping functions. The electrochemical development of the membrane electrode unit (MEA) is the key to the development of innovative AEL systems. You work on the evaluation of structural property relationships of electrodes, porous transport layers and diaphragms as well as on electrochemical characterization at single cell level. You can also adapt existing models. Also plan test campaigns, produce own active layers and identify their interaction with adjacent MEA components in single cells. Work with us to deepen our understanding of the function of important components in the field of disruptive hydrogen technologies and use experiments to identify performance-determining design parameters to develop the next generation of AEL components. You will also immerse yourself in excellent research. You actively use the expertise of our internal research team and our deepened academic network. Take responsibility in which you systematically perform and plan operando, in-situ and ex-situ experiments. Last but not least, you support the work of our internal interdisciplinary and international research team and publish your results in renowned journals.
