Automation technology engineer in the field of process control technology (m/f/d)

You take responsibility for the safe and reliable operation of the ABB Freelance process control system and ensure that a high plant availability is permanently guaranteed by its continuous development. In doing so, you accompany MOC changes, analyze disruptions sustainably and develop technical solutions for the long-term optimization of process control technology. In addition, you plan and implement automation and investment projects (CAPEX/OPEX). You coordinate internal departments and external service providers, develop existing automation standards and work closely with production, process engineering and maintenance. Another focus of your activity is the analysis of existing production processes. You identify automation potentials, develop economic and sustainable solutions and actively contribute to increasing efficiency, process stability and operational safety. You optimize alarm management by analyzing, evaluating and prioritizing alarms and continuously develop existing alarm strategies. This improves both the installation availability and the usability of the process control systems. In the field of process security, you will participate in PHA and HAZOP studies, evaluate safety-relevant measures and accompany their technical implementation in the context of process control technology. Your task is rounded off by the creation and maintenance of technical documentation, such as Functional Design Specifications (FDS), Cause-&-Effect-Matrizen and Loop documentation. This ensures compliance with internal quality standards as well as legal and normative requirements.

You have a completed study of automation technology, electrical engineering or a comparable engineering discipline. Ideally, you bring several years of professional experience in the process industry, for example in the chemical, petrochemical or process engineering industry, and have a good understanding of complex production and automation processes. ABB Freelance process control system and experience in process control technology (DCS), EMSR technology and field instrumentation are the key features. In addition, you have knowledge of functional safety and are familiar with the basics of SIL concepts and ideally with PHA and HAZOP studies. You bring experience in the cooperation and control of internal and external project partners and understand how to advance technical projects in a structured and targeted manner. Personally, you are convinced by an analytical, independent and solution-oriented way of working.
