The Institute for Textile Technology (ITA) is an internationally aspiring research and qualification service provider in the field of fiber-based high-performance materials and their manufacturing technologies. Our interdisciplinary research fields include applied research and development with industrial partners as well as basic research. The ITA develops semi-finished textile products and products for applications in the Life Sciences and Healthcare, Construction and Housing sectors, Lightweight construction and mobility and for the energy sector. The digitization of textile processes and resource optimization of integrated production processes are also in our focus as are the mapping of complete textile process chains. The research areas of Fabric Production – FABRIC concern the four topics Sustainable materials for textile products Mechanical and textile technology innovations for the processing of recycled, bio-based and endemic natural fibres Digitization in area production, mainly mesh production (stricks) Smart machine elements and tribology Through our research in these four topics, we address the global megatrends bioeconomy, Circular Economoie and digitization. We regularly contribute to the innovative transformation within the framework of textile technology. The speciality of our FABRIC range lies in the further development of machines and processes along the expanded textile process chain, which we depict from the preparation of the fiber to the finished area (woven, knitted, etc.). Within textile technology, the range is interdisciplinary, so that cutting quantities with upstream and downstream process stages and further subareas of textile technology are produced (including fiber composite, medical technology, protective equipment and nonwoven fabric production). You have successfully completed your university studies (master or comparable) in the field of mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, physics or textile engineering Ideally, you have prior knowledge in the field of spinning and spinning preparation, digitization or processing of endemic natural and recycling fibers You have a strong initiative and a high team capability A systematic way of working and a high willingness to interdisciplinary work as well as curiosity about engineering science issues round off your profile You have very good knowledge of German and English

The place shall be occupied at the next possible time and shall be limited to 3 years. Further employment for a total of five years is envisaged.
