Number: MER00043T8 At Global Customer Service and Parts (GCSP/TPC), we accompany the entire life cycle of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, from the service-oriented design of our products to market launch and product support and probation. We support the service organisations worldwide, possibly also on site. We work with our partners from GCSP, development, production, purchasing, legal and quality. We create operating instructions, write diagnostic procedures and are the experts in parts technology, as well as in product evaluation and regulation. In the service area for Mercedes-Benz cars, our team is responsible for the retrofitting technology and accessories of Mercedes-Benz vehicles. This includes the engineering of retrofit projects starting from planning and method setting to the publication of technical information and their worldwide distribution of retrofits and digital services. As part of an IT project, we continuously develop the web-based application MBupgrades. It serves as an interface between us and our global dealer network and enables the efficient and customer-oriented execution of retrofitting and digital services. The aim of the Master's thesis is to extend this platform to include an AI-based chatbot based on Large Language Models (LLM), which supports traders and internal users specifically in support requests and is continuously improved by using existing data. Conception and development of an AI-based chatbot based on Large Language Model

Technical integration of the chatbot into the existing XENTRY infrastructure

Design and implementation of a user-friendly front-end interface for the chatbot interaction

Evaluation of the chatbot using defined KPIs

Evaluation and comparison of relevant LLM approaches and technologies

Documentation of results in the form of a scientific thesis

The activity can begin from September 2026. The final topics will be discussed with the university, you and us.

Course Media Informatics, Business Informatics, Data Science, Technical Informatics or a comparable course

Good knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript (TypeScript of advantage)

Experiences with relational or vector-based databases

Good programming knowledge in object-oriented programming languages (preferably Python)

Knowledge of Unit Testing (-Frameworks) is desirable

Experiences with full-stack development and version control systems (especially GitHub) are advantageous

First experiences with cloud technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS) are of advantage

Personal competencies: Analytical thinking and structured, scientific working

Individual initiative and enthusiasm for AI and modern web technologies

Communication and team skills

Interest in automotive technology and after-sales service processes are desirable
