As part of our IT team at the Fraunhofer Institute for Process Engineering and Packaging - IVV in Dresden, you will ensure that science can build on a strong technical basis. Our IT department plans, operates and develops the entire infrastructure - from clients and networks to service services to cluster solutions and media technology.

Specialist in system integration (all genders)

What you do with us

• They maintain our existing IT infrastructure and ensure high system availability.
• As a central contact for our specialist departments, you provide smooth IT processes, advise on the selection and use of IT services and provide further support.
• You manage servers and clients, take care of hardware and software installations on site as well as their configuration and maintenance.
• You manage and test solutions for Windows and Linux servers as well as virtual machines.
• Also provide structured documentation and reporting on IT systems and processes.
• In addition, you identify faults on systems and infrastructure components and work on effective solutions for troubleshooting.
• Last but not least, you are working on implementing the requirements of the IT security concept based on the Fraunhofer guidelines.

• Complete training as a specialist for system integration or a comparable qualification

Knowledge of:

• Client hardware and periphery as well as

• Network and system security, at best in virtualization and IT security - or interest to acquire it with us

• Experience in the administration of IT environments (Windows, Linux)

• Self-employment and analytical methods as well as a high level of organization

• Very good knowledge of German and good English in word and writing

• Self-employed, conscientious and analytical work, solution-oriented thinking, organisational skills, team skills and readiness to learn
