Planning, installation, configuration and operation of the central IT infrastructure components (servers, storage systems, network components, virtualization solutions) of the university. Ensuring a high-availability and efficient IT operation of the university. Implementation of maintenance, update and backup measures as well as implementation of systems and infrastructure. Analysis and elimination of complex disruptions and technical problems in the field of IT infrastructure. Participation in the development and implementation of IT security policies and protection measures to ensure the safe operation of the infrastructure. Support in the planning and implementation of IT projects for the further development of infrastructure. Documentation of infrastructure and activities carried out. Consultation and support of specialist departments in technical issues and the use of IT infrastructure. Cooperation with external service providers and manufacturers in maintenance, support and rollouts

Complete studies in the field of computer science or comparable vocational training in IT At least 3 years of relevant experience in the administration of server (Linux) and storage systems Knowledge of network administration (e.g. routing, switching, firewall technologies) would be advantageous Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g. VMware) Knowledge of IT security and data protection Teamability and Communication Strength Analytical thinking and structured, solution-oriented working Strong affinity for technical questions and high self-motivation for problem and solution finding Ability to communicate with different target groups orally and in writing, as well as pronounced customer orientation and friendly and sovereign appearance very good knowledge of German and good English in word and writing Continuous training readiness to travel between the sites
