Where to pack • You take over the technical leadership of a small developer team and are a central role in the further development of our backend architecture with Kotlin and PostgreSQL. • Your tasks include the holistic support and development of complex modules and the active design of architectural decisions. • In everyday life, you support concepts, reviews and development issues and encourage an open exchange of knowledge. • Special focus is on the implementation of containerization solutions with Docker and the introduction and optimization of automated CI/CD pipelines. • You are also responsible for building and operating a modern monitoring with the Grafana stack (Mimir, Loki, Tempo, Pyroscope) for the holistic monitoring and visualization of the backend systems. • Of course, you work closely with our colleagues from Frontend, DevOps and Product Management to ensure smooth processes and clean interfaces. • This position can be 100% exercised from the home office. So you can determine when you want to work anywhere in Germany. • A part-time job is not in the way, but it would be ideal if you spend at least 35h of your time with us a week.

What you should bring • You have successfully completed a scientific study (even doctoral studies) and can be really proud of your very good result. • You have several years of experience in backend development, ideally with Kotlin (or Java) and PostgreSQL, and feel at home in containerized environments with Docker. • You have deep knowledge of containerization and CI/CD processes and know how to establish and scale these topics in the team. • Your first experience with agentic software development (e.g. CLI-based AI programming via Claude Code / Codex) or in the area of Vibecoding can be applied practically to us. • You think in architectures instead of only in modules. Structuring, scaling and designing complex systems for the future is exactly your thing. • You have already instructed or supported a small team professionally and have the pleasure of sharing knowledge, improving processes and advancing technical quality. • Analytical thinking, self-responsibility and a clear, open communication characterize you as a human being. • To do this, you bring very good knowledge of German (at least C1) and good knowledge of English so that cooperation with your team and our partners works smoothly.
